PROFILE
Executive Summary
At “The Soil Solution”, we are committed to transforming agriculture and land management in The Gambia/Sub-Saharan Africa through innovative, sustainable, and community-driven approaches.
Since our inception, we have achieved transformative results through impactful programs and strong partnerships with government agencies, research institutions, communities and local stakeholders. We have successfully restored hundreds of hectares of land and conducted the first-ever nationwide soil pH mapping, setting a new benchmark in agricultural innovation and land management. Building on this success, we are currently expanding our restoration efforts to cover an additional degraded land, with a focus on improving soil health and agricultural resilience.
Our work is grounded in empowering local communities. Through research, targeted training programs, improved access to agricultural inputs, and the promotion of best practices, we are equipping farmers and youth with the tools they need to thrive. In collaboration with key partners, we are driving job creation and fostering sustainable livelihoods in the agricultural sector, aligning with national and regional development priorities.
Being endorsed by numerous United Nations Conventions, Expert Bodies and Partners, we are a trusted leader in addressing land degradation, climate change, desertification, biodiversity, food security, poverty and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our participation in international frameworks underscores our commitment to aligning local actions with global environmental and development goals. With The Gambia serving as a pilot country for the “Africa Soil Strength Programme” (ASSP), The Soil Solution is at the forefront of a continental movement for sustainable land use and climate resilience. By combining cutting-edge expertise, strategic partnerships, and community-driven solutions, we are cultivating a future where healthy soils underpin vibrant agriculture, economic growth, and environmental sustainability.
